Some images explain. Bipolar Horse doesn’t — it shows. Vibrant colour and distorted form spiral through a single animal portrait, and the longer you look, the clearer it becomes that two moods are living inside the same body. Neither wins. That stand-off is the subject of the work.
Lazarus chose a horse for a reason: it is one of the oldest symbols of strength and freedom in art, an image almost everyone reads instantly. Familiar enough to connect, strange enough to unsettle. Pushed through an overwhelming palette and deliberate distortion, the animal becomes a mirror for the push and pull of the mind — euphoria and weight, speed and stillness, held in one frame.
This is conceptual pop art with emotional rawness at its core, made for people who prefer honest images to decorative ones. It works as a conversation piece in a living room, a studio or a workspace where art is allowed to ask questions.
The physical print. Each copy belongs to a limited edition of 100, printed by Lazarus himself in his Madrid studio and signed, stamped and numbered on the back (e.g. 12/100). Choose 200 g/m² glossy photographic paper for saturated colour, or handmade rice paper from Vietnam (approx. 220 g/m²) for a softer, textured surface. Sizes: A4 (21 × 29.7 cm) or A3 (29.7 × 42 cm). Frame not included; shipped protected in rigid cardboard within 3 days.
Art that doesn’t flinch from the difficult stuff.
