Bliss (Guapa) — Print

Not every piece has to carry the weight of the world. Bliss (Guapa) is Lazarus allowing art to be joy — pure, uncomplicated and radiant. A warm portrait that celebrates beauty and happiness in colour bold enough to change the mood of a room.

The title says it twice, in two languages. Bliss is the feeling; guapa is what you’d hear on a Madrid street — a compliment that is warm, direct and a little cheeky. That mix of international pop language and local Spanish attitude runs through much of Lazarus’s work, and here it lands in its sunniest form.

The palette is expressive without being chaotic, and the figure radiates something genuine rather than posed. It’s the kind of image that works where you want energy first thing in the morning: a bedroom, a hallway, a kitchen, a studio. It also makes an easy, generous gift for someone who deserves to be told they look good.

Beauty, celebrated without apology.
