It’s been on this wall longer than you’ve been alive. Still smiling.
Somewhere in every city there’s a wall with a smiley face on it.
Nobody remembers who painted it. Nobody knows how long it’s been there. The plaster has cracked around it. The paint has faded and shifted from bright yellow to something older, more earned — the colour of a thing that decided to keep going regardless. The smile is slightly off. One eye sits higher than the other. It doesn’t care.
This umbrella is that wall. Original artwork by Lazarus Lab — the texture intact, the cracks preserved, the grey concrete border framing a face that has outlasted everything painted around it. It is the most ironic object in The Vault and also somehow the most sincere. That contradiction is the whole point.
Open it in the rain. Have a nice day.
