Every strip is someone’s most important sentence.
Inside a temple in Vietnam, people write down what they need most.
Health. A name. A safe return. A child. A debt cleared. A person forgiven. They write it on a strip of wood or paper, lacquered deep magenta, and they hang it with hundreds of others until the wall becomes a single breathing thing — dense with language, heavy with hope, completely private in public.
This umbrella is a photograph of that wall. Shot in stillness, in a temple, with the quiet permission of a place that was simply open. Deep fuchsia ground, rows of hanging strips, characters in Vietnamese and Chinese pressed into the lacquer. The names are still there if you look. You won’t be able to read them.
That’s the point.
Carry it. Add your own intention. The wall has room.
